  The International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) is a worldwide network of individuals and agencies working with children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The Hospice Palliative Care Association (HPCA) is an umbrella organisation, consisting of 70 member hospices and 84 development sites. Membership is voluntary - not all hospices in South Africa are members of the HPCA.
The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund (DPOWMF) is an independent grant-giving charity established in September 1997 to continue the Princess's humanitarian work in the United Kingdom and overseas. Our vision is a world in which the rights of the disadvantaged are respected. The Hospice and Palliative Care Association of South Africa's (HPCA) mission is to promote quality in life, dignity in death and support in bereavement for all living with a a life threatening illness by supporting member hospices and organisations. HPCA supports services in all 9 provinces and aims to develop these services in every health sub-district by 2010 in order to achieve our vision of "quality palliative care for all" . Bigshoes is all about medical interventions that assist orphaned and vulnerable children to grow up to fill big shoes!These interventions are delivered through four programmes: an abandoned baby programme, medical clinics and outreach, training and palliative care. Interventions include HIV testing, adoption medicals, basic child health training for caregivers, advocacy and paediatric palliative care.
